Heading off into a new year is always daunting, so, to ease the transition and to follow the footsteps of those before me, I have taken it upon myself (any implication that these interviews might be a hardship is entirely unintended, I have never met a more lovely group of people in my life), to interview all the members of the SLT in order to understand them and their aspirations a little better. And who better to start with then our wonderful Head Girl, Emma Hamilton.
What excites you most about the next year?
I can’t wait to see all the plans for our upcoming events come into fruition – I think there will be some fantastic events this year!
What scares you most?
I’m a little bit paranoid about tripping over the big yellow cable that comes out of the lectern in assemblies – it hasn’t happened yet so fingers crossed!
I’m also terrified of wasps.
How did you react when you found out you had head girl?
I was definitely very shocked – our whole team had a chance to celebrate all our roles together, and then I messaged my family.
And onto some lighter questions, Favourite food?
I love raspberry jam (I’m not sure if that counts as a food though)
Favourite hobby?
I love to sing!
(For those of you who have never heard Emma sing, you are most definitely missing out and I would recommend keeping an eye out for any next events she features in)
If you could do an A-level in anything, what would you want to do one in?
Definitely period dramas.
What are you watching at the moment?
I’ve just finished re-watching Derry Girls for the 3rd time!
What are your top three favourite songs? (Following last year’s tradition, the SLT’s top 3 favourite songs will be compiled into a playlist on the Unconquered Peaks Spotify Account, follow us at unconquered_peaks to find it!)
- Salvatore – Lana Del Ray,
- Read your Mind – Sabrina Carpenter,
- The Painter Song – Norah Jones,
I wanted to thank Emma for her time and make sure everyone keeps their eyes out for future interviews being released in the coming week!
