In honour of our queen Taylor Swift coming to London last weekend for the Eras Tour, I thought it would only be right to pay her homage through thinking about how we really connect with her albums, or should I say, Eras. Not that I’m bitter about not getting tickets… totally not…
Aquarius = Midnights
- You are: analytical, honest, assertive, confident, innovative, and idealistic.
- This one you just have to go with me on, because I can’t really explain it (I haven’t got the words…)
- ‘Anti-Hero’ feels pretty “confident”, you’ve got to admit.
- And the “innovative” and “idealistic” traits you’ve got going for you are definitely seen in the album.
Aries = Red
- You are: bold, energetic, charismatic, lively, creative, and brave.
- This album is such a banger, 10/10.
- I feel like Red is just Aries in an album to be honest, “bold”, “lively”, 22, everything.
Cancer = Lover
- You are: compassionate, loving, protective, devoted, charming, and intuitive
- I mean the title of the album and one of your characteristics are basically the same, how could Cancer and Lover not go together?
- ‘London Boy’ and ‘The Archer’ are probably my favourites on this album, and I feel like they fit in with the “charming” characteristic Cancers seem to have.
Capricorn = The Tortured Poet’s Department
- You are: perfectionist, hard-working, dedicated, honest, loyal, and ambitious.
- I mean this one feels like one that could be debatable, but I’m sticking with TTPD.
- I’m leaning into the “honest”, “dedicated” and “ambitious” here I reckon.
- You’re current Taylor, and we absolutely love that for you.
Gemini = Debut
- You are: witty, curious, funny, communicative, inquisitive, and impulsive.
- While this is (as far as I know) not on the Eras Tour set list, you are a founding member of the TS fan club.
- I’m pulling on the “inquisitive” characteristic here, and I reckon it doesn’t get more curious and newer than Debut.
Leo = Speak Now
- You are: confident, ambitious, generous, protective, funny, and energetic.
- I’m looking specifically at ‘The Story of Us’ and ‘Mean’ for this one. The outgoing energy is 100% there for the Leos.
- This is my sister’s star sign, and I feel like Speak Now also really gives younger sibling energy, though I wouldn’t tell you why.
Libra = Red
- You are: diplomatic, fair, idealistic, social, clever, and indecisive.
- You’re a different side of Red to Aries.
- You’re the ‘All Too Well 10 Minute Version’ to Aries’ ‘I Knew You Were Trouble’.
Pisces = Fearless
- You are: compassionate, artistic, imaginative, supportive, intuitive, and kind.
- “Compassionate” and “imaginative” feel very applicable here.
- Love Story was the soundtrack of Year 3 for me.
- I can definitely see you dancing and shouting the words to You Belong With Me.
- This era of TS music videos was amazing, and you definitely appreciate that.
Sagittarius = 1989
- You are: lively, passionate, philosophical, adventurous, outgoing, and faithful.
- I will say when this album came out, 8 year old me could not get enough of it (I still have the CD at home).
- This album fulfils “lively” and “adventurous” to a tee, I think.
Scorpio = Reputation
- You are: ambitious, brave, loyal, secretive, independent, and passionate.
- This era was iconic, and you can’t tell me otherwise.
- Taylor is starting to change (one might say, becoming independent) and she’s letting that confidence shine.
- I’m a bit jealous to be honest.
Taurus = Evermore
- You are: reliable, down to earth, loyal, dedicated, intelligent, and stubborn.
- I can’t say I know this album very well, but I feel like the dedicated and down to earth traits work here.
- This album was at the beginning of Lockdown 3 (ish) for us in the UK, and this album felt like it fit the vibe.
- I feel like this aligns you with Virgos (see below) quite a lot, you’re like two sides of the same coin, one could say.
Virgo = Folklore Still my favourite star sign.
- Still my favourite star sign.
- You are: practical, organised, methodical, sympathetic, modest, and sensitive.
- I’m leaning into the sympathetic and sensitive side here.
- Again, I can’t really say I know this album all too well (get the joke, I do make myself laugh sometimes), but this is the general vibe I’m getting.
- ‘the last great american dynasty’ is my favourite here and I may (or may not) be basing my whole decision on that song, but oh wellllll…
You will have to forgive my repetition of Red, but it’s just too good. Now if you’re anything like me and failed to get tickets, take this as an excuse to re-listen to your star sign’s album for a bit of fun (if I’m talented enough, it may even be your favourite). I would also like to apologize for the quite poor puns that are throughout this, they may make me seem rather foolish but that’s half the fun in my opinion. If you got them, go you! If you didn’t, oh well I can get over it.
As ever, this is all a bit of fun so if you happen to be ‘stuck’ with your least favourite album, I am sorry. This is based entirely on vibe and very little concrete evidence. If you don’t identify with your star sign, that’s okay!!
