Why The Swimmers is so great and what it can teach us
Honestly, I do watch a lot of movies. From Marvel movies to historical dramas, I am quite eclectic in the genres I pick. However, only a few of these do actually resonate with me – The Swimmers is one of them. Now, the only valid excuse for not watching it is “I don’t have Netflix” – so if you genuinely have avoided this beautiful movie, I would suggest curling up on the sofa and switching on the TV right now…before you read this article. Maybe writing this was an excuse for me to watch the movie for the 3rd time, but it is truly one of its kind.
Summer Term ‘Back to School Bingo’
I’m sure you are all simply thrilled to be back at school, especially if you are lucky enough to be year 11 and 13s. I hope you can take comfort in knowing we actually are all the same, and so maybe you can get a little joy out of spotting these types of people around school.
How does Science impact your shopping?
It’s not an uncommon experience in supermarkets these days to be browsing the shelves for everyday products, only to be surrounded by terms such as micellar technology; pH adjusted; clinically proven, supports immunity! These terms would be at home in a science lab, but instead they describe shampoos, foundations, yoghurts, and more. They seem to be approaching ever closer to ubiquity in the advertising world, and not without good reason.
Getting to Know the SLT 2023-24: Head Girl
In keeping with last year’s tradition, I have decided to sit down with the different teams within the SLT to discuss the new roles, the shape they would like their leadership to take in the following year, and of course, take the opportunity to get to know them all better.
