In keeping with last year’s tradition, I have decided to sit down with the different teams within the SLT to discuss the new roles, the shape they would like their leadership to take in the following year, and of course, take the opportunity to get to know them all better. And this week I spoke to our fantastic new Deputy Head Girl Team: Lauren, Evie and Phoebe.

The knowledge of anaesthetics has not been around for very long, and the use of them is an even more recent development. Anaesthetics are used frequently in current medical practice, with most surgeries being done under some kind of anaesthesia (whether this is local or general), but the use of them only became widespread in the mid-1800s.

Australia, an expanse of ecosystems, teeming with wildlife and natural beauty. A haven, buzzing with ecological wonders, yet also an unfortunate protector of the creepy crawlies so terrifying that haunt my dreams. But when asked which animal is the most dangerous in Australia, answers vary, as personal experiences overtake rational thought. Perhaps it’s the infamous blue-ringed octopus, which packs a deadly venom in a tennis ball sized care package or the nefarious box jellyfish whose venom causes cardiac arrest in 4 minutes.
Unlikely heroes: How goats and sheep are saving Spain from wildfires

The number and severity of wildfires across Europe has risen dramatically over the past few decades. Shockingly, we’ve even experienced some wildfires in the UK over the past few summers, during record breaking heatwaves. The fires have also hit Spain particularly severely with an average of 13,000 wildfires a year. Humans are mostly to blame for this sharp increase; unbelievably humans intentionally cause fifty percent of fires.
