She didn’t want to open it. She didn’t want to allow herself to feel the things that she’d kept inside for so long, and she knew, that by opening the box, she would bring to the surface everything she had forced down for the last four years. She understood she had to; if anything, curiosity alone would get the better of her eventually. The knowledge of its existence was enough to occupy her thoughts, let alone its contents.
Reflections on Afghanistan
The events that have unfolded in Afghanistan over the past month, the US UK withdrawal and subsequent Taliban takeover, have been on the lips of reporters and the public alike. Since Biden’s announcement, the crisis has only become more chaotic, with new developments and new angles being presented nearly every day. Only now has the situation seemed to cool down a little, though this is very much an outsider’s perspective. So, it might do to take a momentary step back, and discuss what has happened to Afghanistan in the round, and its implications.

WHS Love Island 2021
Like many of you, I spent a good portion of my summer glued to my screen watching the monstrosity that was Love Island. Whether it be the escapades of Casa Amor, Toby turning his head about 500 times or having to sit through Liam struggle through a Tom Jones banger– this season truly had it all.
