WHS Love Island 2021

Like many of you, I spent a good portion of my summer glued to my screen watching the monstrosity that was Love Island. Whether it be the escapades of Casa Amor, Toby turning his head about 500 times or having to sit through Liam struggle through a Tom Jones banger– this season truly had it all.

As I was watching, I started to draw some similarities between the contestants and a few familiar faces and naturally thought, this would make a great Unconquered Peaks article! Therefore, ladies and gentlemen I present to you the cast of …

WHS LOVE ISLAND 2021

Dr P as Brett Staniland

Although you may not suspect it at first sight, both Dr P and Brett have many similarities. Like Dr P, Brett has a PhD that took him to a foreign land, and it is also in an obscure yet interesting field which serves to be a great conversation starter. Furthermore, they both use their platforms to raise awareness about issues that are important to them. However, Brett’s stay in the villa was very short-lived unlike Dr P who is a #4Lifer here at WHS. All in all, two underrated legends in my humble opinion…

Mrs F as Liberty Poole

You KNOW that Mrs F would take photos of you around the villa and hype you up just like Lib did for Kaz, (my personal favourite relationship from this season). They’re both incredibly loyal and OG’s that will be there for you from day one. Just like Mrs F, Liberty is true to herself and knows her worth. Although, I must admit I don’t think Mrs F would ever be swayed by a tool like Jake…

Mrs C as Georgia Townend

Georgia is hands down one of the funniest personalities to come out of the villa, much like Mrs C in WHS. Her Instagram posts ever since her departure has had me in stitches and I can imagine Mrs C’s hypothetical tiktoks would have me crying with laughter too.  Again, Georgia is part of the 48-hour club whilst Mrs C who is celebrating her 25th year of teaching most definitely is not. Above all, it is Georgia’s reassuring and calming demeanour that is most reminiscent of Mrs C who has managed to talk handfuls of Year 13s through UCAS triggered breakdowns.

Mr T as Hugo Hammond

Like Hugo, Mr T is a bit iconic. I can imagine him whipping out an impromptu roast around the fire-pit whilst standing up for a fellow islander à la Hugo. Similar to Hugo’s PT sessions, I can vividly picture Mr T leading the islanders through a PSHE lesson or perhaps another cooking class?

Ms Mc as Millie Court

Ms Mc and Millie are perhaps the most similar so far. Both are fan favourites and have your back. They’re always up for a chat and will help you in anyway they can. Whilst I hope Ms Mc’s piano skills are a bit better than that of Millie’s, I know for a fact she is as kind and supportive as Mills. All she needs now is a necklace with her star sign on it and you won’t be able to spot the difference.

Ms K as Chloe Burrows

They’re both weapons. Enough said.
