We are pleased to introduce you to the House Captains for the 2025-2026 academic year. This year’s house leadership team includes Scarlett Parker as Scott House Captain, Ava Skeete as Arnold House Captain, Jam Nightingale as Meredith House Captain, and Rose Lewis as Hastings House Captain.
What are you most looking forward to doing during your time on the SLT?
Scarlett: I’m extremely excited to gather the year groups together and work passionately on house projects as a team, I can’t wait to compete in all of the house events and hopefully win a few on the way!
Ava: I’m so excited for every house event – especially House Music when Arnold will win!!
Jam: I’m most excited for Meredith (aka the best house) to become the UNDISPUTED champions by winning every single House event this year!
Rose: Sports Day and House Music.
What’s your go-to comfort meal?
Scarlett: Roast dinner – preferably beef! Or something simpler like chicken stir fry.
Ava: Pesto pasta is always a 10/10 and gets bonus points because it’s green (for Arnold).
Jam: Whenever I’m feeling down, my dad makes his mum’s ‘world famous’ spaghetti bolognese recipe and it is out of this world!
Rose: Rigatoni with spicy tomato sauce, chicken, and cheese.
What’s a niche topic you’re really passionate about?al?
Scarlett: I’m super passionate about politics and looking into the political participation of women, so much so I am writing my EPQ on this topic! On a very different note, I am also very passionate about my favourite phone game – Homescapes.
Ava: Academic -> anything about America in the 19th century. Non-academic -> Competition reality tv shows (Survivor, The Traitors, etc) are my obsession.
Jam: The life of Britain’s most misunderstood Prime Minister: Gordon Brown.
Rose: The effect of bilingualism on the brain (my EPQ).
What would your biography be titled?
Scarlett: ‘Guide to Being Extremely Forgetful yet Somehow Organised’
Ava: No clue, sorry!
Jam: I’m still deciding between ‘I Think Therefore I Jam’ and ‘Tony Blair, Why Won’t You Call Me Back?’
Rose: ‘La Vie en Rose’
What’s your comfort movie/TV show?
Scarlett: My favourite TV shows are American Horror Story and The White Lotus, but for a more comforting favourite, I also love Gilmore Girls!
Ava: Little Women or anything by Greta Gerwig.
Jam: I always find myself putting on Parks and Recreation; it makes me crack a smile when nothing else seems to work.
Rose: Pitch Perfect + Grey’s Anatomy (seasons 1-9).
What are your top 3 favourite songs? (all songs can be found on the SLT 2025-2026 Spotify Playlist)
Scarlett: My favourite songs change all the time but currently I am loving listening to The Hardest Part by Olivia Dean, Writing’s on the Wall by Role Model and F2F by SZA.
Ava: Gypsy (Fleetwood Mac), Ex-factor (Ms Lauryn Hill), Girl (Destiny’s Child) – Any 90s R&B + at the moment I’m obsessed with Fleetwood Mac.
Jam: High and Dry by Radiohead, I Love You by Fontaines DC, and Something in the Orange by Zach Bryan.
Rose: Anything by Fleetwood Mac (top 3 from them are The Chain, Go Your Own Way, and Dreams), and Florence + the Machine (Dog Days are Over).
