RHS Chelsea Flower Show- Unusually Autumnal

For the first time in its 108 year history, the Royal Horticultural Society Chelsea Flower Show 2021 was moved to September.

Moving from a late spring show to an early autumn exhibition has given Chelsea new access to late summer flowering perennials, berries, seed heads, dahlias, pumpkins, tomatoes, and vegetables!

There were a stark number of environmental issues being raised and talked about at this year’s Chelsea Flower Show.

The RHS COP26 garden, (designed by Ms. Marie-Louise Agius) was inspired by the 26th Climate Change Conference, which will be hosted by Britain in Glasgow; this show garden demonstrates how our gardens and parks can help to protect our planet and ourselves.  The Yeo Valley Organic Garden (designed by Mr.Tom Massey supported by Sarah Mead) urges gardeners to consider their actions on the environment and encourages us all to partake in some form of  organic gardening.

Every way you looked, there were chrysanthemums, which is unusual for this sort of flower show.

The RHS Chelsea Flower Show is returning to its usual date in Mid-May for 2022.
