Mr Cawsey investigates: how to stop a draught

Mr Cawsey reports on how he improved the warmth of his home with a little help from Miss Sinclair and the Estates Department.

Feeling chilly

The cost of living crisis has made us all aware of how much energy we use around our homes. As the weather has become colder, I noticed a draught in one of my rooms at home. Where could it be coming from? That’s where the wonderful Miss Sinclair was ready to help me out. Using an infrared camera from the Estates department, I was able to pinpoint exactly where the cold air was coming from. Pointing it around the room, there was an area highlighted bright blue.

Cosy Squirrels

Upon inspection, I found that the squirrels that had been living very comfortably in my loft had torn the insulation and made it into a bed. This meant that half of the loft had no insulation at all. One trip to Wickes and a very busy Saturday morning and my loft was insulated and the cold air vanished. As I was moving the camera around the room, Solomon popped his head round the door to see what was happening. He was very warm indeed as he appeared bright orange – here’s the picture to see!

Thank you to Miss Sinclair and to the Estates Department- I am now saving money and keeping warm!
