Something that is extremely unique is to be able to attend a school where a mainly student-led week of events can be planned and carried out, we should be proud to be part of a community where this can happen.
For “Take Your Daughter To Work Day”, two years ago now, since my mother has a small business at home, and my father was on leave, I visited my Dad’s cousin, Frances Wollen, an ex Wimbledon High Pupil (she attended WHS from 1959-1971), who works at a book publishing company. Seeing my sister go to my dad’s work a few weeks ago made me realise that it would be a shame to not document this wonderful day I had with a WHS alumna.
Upon arrival at school last Monday morning I found myself, delightfully, bombarded with rainbows, balloons and all things celebratory – what a lovely way to begin my week!
The coach is calm and tranquil. Excluding, perhaps, one corner in which the woman, the myth, the legend, that is Nella Tee, is getting down to some Drum and Bass.
